“One of the most valuable things we can do to heal, is to listen to each other’s stories” – Rebecca Falls
Counselling is a vital part of healing when we have experienced any form of emotional pain. It is important to remember that you do not need to navigate through complex situations on your own. It is helpful to speak to an objective person who is able to facilitate you through a process of self exploration, growth, change and reflection. Life is complicated and your mental health is very important. Sometimes all we need is some guidance in order to see possibilities and opportunities in life that we were previously unable to see. This Fourways based counselling practice was designed to meet your counselling needs so that you get everything you want out of life.
We all experience and perceive situations in our own way and sometimes we struggle to express ourselves or to determine how to move past something. At times, we may feel stuck and the possibility of being happy seems out of reach. This is where personal counselling is important. No matter what you are going through, it is vital to remember that you do not need to go through it alone. Counselling is a healthy and positive way to help you be the best version of yourself by working through the challenging times.
Couples and relationship counselling was designed to facilitate couples through a process of healing, change and growth. We are all unique individuals and sometimes we do not see eye to eye and this is where counselling can be instrumentally helpful. Additionally, this service is also beneficial for couples who are engaged or newly-weds, as a means to determine what kind of future you would like to have together. Your counsellor will facilitate you through a process of discovery as an individual and as a couple.
This counselling deals with the complicated and diverse experience associated with being a child who was adopted, being adoptive parents or being the biological parent(s). Each experience is unique, but equally challenging. This type of counselling will help you navigate through past, present or future experiences that are characteristic of adoption.
Trauma counselling is extremely important when you have experienced a traumatic situation. This type of counselling was designed to prevent the development of PTSD, to remove the power from the experience so that you are not consumed or defined by it and to help you move forward and live a positive and happy life.
Losing your job can be traumatic regardless of if you quit or retrenched. Facing the future knowing that you do not have a place to go to everyday, and the realisation of not receiving an income at the end of the month can be extremely stressful. Often people tend to feel a sense of hopelessness, defeat and sometimes even incompetence. Unemployment counselling is beneficial here as it will help you come to terms with leaving your old job and facilitate you through an exploration process allowing you to determine a new plan of action. Additionally, unemployment counselling is also beneficial for individuals who are still employed but are considering leaving their current employment, as well as for those who are unable to gain employment for specific or unknown reasons.
Please feel free to make contact if you would like to participate in any of these counselling services. Additionally, if you need counselling for an issue that not discussed above, please do not hesitate to send an email or call to discuss your needs and potential counselling requirements.
